Peter Nicholls and his team built our 31ft narrowboat, Cassiopeia 20 years ago and she has given excellent service on the canals and rivers. Only routine maintenance has been needed during her life and her reliability has been outstanding. Two years ago we decided to have her extended as our original design was a little cramped for 2 + 2 dogs (and we wanted to add a proper bedroom). There was only one choice of yard! An additional 12 ft was inserted in the middle giving us a much more spacious craft. We are delighted with the result, the quality of work and the time to complete.

Having bought a 41ft narrowboat from Peter in 1993, I had this 'stretched' by 14ft in 2000. The new section's build was just as good as the original fit-out I've been delighted with my extended home. The boat has only needed routine maintenance in its first quarter century of life. Always been a pleasure doing business with Peter.

We have visited Peter Nicholls yacht builders a few times over the years and it really is a pleasure to look and listen whilst Peter shows you boats in production, especially from the steelwork upwards and the internal and externally finishing is to the highest standard, just beautiful!! We are very pleased with our Huffler built by Peter Nicholls in 1998. Over 20 years we have travelled some 20000 sea miles through North Europe. We are still in touch with the yard and over the years they have given us technical support over a few bits and bobs. They are a professional outfit and we would not hesitate to recommend them.

Peter Nicholls built Sue and me a bespoke, high build-quality steel boat tailored to our requirements, and his after-sales service has been AAA. My cousin bought a custom made Hufler 40 from Peter Nicholls a few years ago and I know that he was very pleased with it. Sadly, he died in 2016 and they have refurbished it to the original standard. The work has been done very professionally and competently. Charles Harrington.
